As part of the Beer Heights Light Railway Gala, Pecorama are delighted to welcome Veronica Chambers, daughter of the late Reverend Wilbert Awdry, for a special illustrated talk about her father and the creation of the Railway Series.
Entitled The Thomas the Tank Engine Man, the talk will explore Wilbert Awdry's life and the stories that introduced generations of children to Thomas the Tank Engine and his railway friends.
Items of Awdry family memorabilia will be on display, and Veronica will answer questions from the audience at the end of the talk.
Donations will be invited in support of the Veronica Awdry Charitable Trust, a registered UK charity based in Devon which provides grants to charitable organisations and individuals, including heritage railways.
