The curtain rose on Torquay’s newest nightlife venue last night, as The Box Office Lounge officially opened its doors beneath its sister venue, the popular Arena on Torwood Street.
On the night, we joined the excited crowd filling the beautifully appointed venue to capacity, where owner Steven Garratt laid out his vision. He outlined ambitious plans for the new addition, promising a versatile social hub for the town. Patrons can expect a line-up of live music, sporting events showcased on the big screen, a roster of special events, and a curated selection of drinks and food.
The Box Office Lounge represents a new chapter for entertainment in the town centre. A space that’s sophisticated yet welcoming, where you can enjoy a fantastic cocktail, watch the big match with friends, or discover incredible musical talent—all under one roof.
Putting the venue’s sound equipment to the test on the night was singer and musician Millie Bowden. Her powerful performance of classic hits energized the room and demonstrated the lounge’s commitment to quality live sound, earning enthusiastic applause from the inaugural audience.
If the opening-night is anything to go by, The Box Office Lounge is set to be a hit. With its stylish décor, vibrant atmosphere, and unique offering, it marks a significant and welcome addition to Torquay’s after-dark scene, providing a modern, multi-purpose destination in the heart of the town.
